Transformed by God

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."  Romans 12:2 NKJV

Now what does the word "conformed" mean in this scripture text?  It means to "copy", to "emulate" and what scripture is telling us here is not to copy the behaviors, the attitudes, the customs of the world we live in.  Do not allow yourself to get corrupted by the world system because you are not of this world, even though you live in it.    You and I are children of the most High God that have been set apart for His use and have been given individualized divine assignments to complete while on earth until we are called home to glory.  We are ambassadors of the Lord Jesus Christ called to serve and shine our light in this dying world, we are called to a different standard of doing things and so as believers, you and I must allow God to transform us into the women we are destined and purposed to be. Without transformation taking place in our minds and thought process, it will be very easy to fall prey to the enemy's devices.

Beloved, the world is defined for us in 1 John 2:15-16 and it states "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. "  Verse 16 actually defines what the world or the world system is all about ( i.e immorality, gluttony, materialism, alcoholism, drugs, thirst for power, over ambition).  Unfortunately so many believers have allowed the above to dominate their lives and some even go as far as justifying their sinful lifestyles.

The only way believers can avoid falling prey to satan's schemes, conforming to the world's standards, is to allow the Holy Spirit ( God's transforming power) to renew our minds and how is this done?  By literarily allowing the power of God's word to change us into who He has purposed us to be on earth. For more understanding, read and meditate on the following verses:  Romans 10:17, Rev 1:3, Psalm 119:9-11, Psalm 1:2-3 and Joshua 1:8.  It is only the word of God, daily ministered in our hearts by the Holy Spirit (God's power on earth) that can transform us from worldliness to holiness ( a life daily set apart life, not trying to "blend in" with the world, but instead living according to God's Word as we study the Bible and grow in it).

May the Lord help us to live a life holy and pleasing before Him.

Shalom.

A Word for the New Year

Beloved, welcome to another new year, A year of moving forward. The year, 2018 is another
opportunity to get rid of things that causes you, your heart, body and spirit to be sick and stagnant. In order to move forward in your life, there are certain things that needs to be done..... A time of pruning, a time of tearing away and  cutting. Now if you want to live a healthy and fulfilled life, you will need to watch what you eat, drink, say, and think about.  You need to know when to be quiet and when to speak, you will need to watch the company you keep, your relationships ( personal and professional). Sisters be careful of who you allow in your life, your personal space, not every one wishes you well.  All these things I have mentioned is very crucial to your personal and spiritual growth. This is a time where you have to examine yourself; spending time in prayer and meditation seeking God's face for His purpose for your life this year and beyond. Believe me when the Lord begins that transformation in your life, it is not going to be easy because He is going to perform the necessary spiritual surgical operation, but when He is done with you, you will not believe how much unnecessary weight (burden), in the form of bad habits, besetting sin, negative thinking, bad relationship etc. that you have been carrying around for years and years.

My beloved sisters, If you want to achieve good success this year and live a joyful and fulfilled life, call upon the Lord today and allow Him to do what needs to be done in your life to move you forward to higher heights in Jesus name.

Shalom!

What is your Story?

Beloved, everyone has a story to tell. The Bible tells us that we are chosen by God to declare the goodness of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9.   This means that God has chosen you to share your story, the story that will proclaim His glory for all to hear.  I read somewhere that our story might just be the prescription or medication for the addict who is looking for hope of freedom, for a light at the end of the tunnel.  It might be for the lonely sister who need hope of love, the regretful individual seeking hope of a new beginning or the youth who needs hope that God's power is available to hold him or her in purity.    Whatever your story reveals, do not give up, do not back up or shut up,  but speak up because it needs to be heard.

Do not let the enemy of your progress i.e satan shut you up, it is not until you have gone to prison, being a drug addict, prostitute or alcoholic before you know you have a story to tell.  Many people have never experienced or being any of the above stated but they have had their own struggles and challenges in life that gives them a reason to speak up and testify.   No matter what you have gone through in this life,  know  that as a believer, Christ has put His Spirit in each of us which therefore gives us  the ability to share with the world His immeasurable love and His plans for those who love Him and want to serve Him.

The Lord has deposited in each of us gifts, (spiritual) gifts that will bless and impact the lives of others for the kingdom.  These gifts are to be used to serve Him in different capacities in the body of Christ.  It is to be used to change the lives of others  for example, setting those in bondage free.  When you tell your story utilizing the gifts God has deposited in you,  He is using you to deliver somebody from the stronghold of addictions ( sex, drugs, alcohol, food etc.)  and not only is the person able to see that you understand what they are going through because you have been where they have been or have gone through similar challenges, but God has also given you a supernatural gift of healing and deliverance to change their lives.

Saints do not let the enemy deceive you into thinking your story is not good enough to speak up and empower because it is a big lie from the pit of hell.  Your story or testimony will surely change a life for Christ, it will make a difference in the life of a person, a family and a community.

 Shalom.
