God is Interested in Your Everyday Life

"The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives."  Psalm 37:23 NLT

Not too long ago, I was sharing with a client of mine who comes in for counseling & prayers how God is not just interested  or pleased with us when we do "spiritual" things such as reading our bible, engaging in prayer sessions, attending church service or bible study but also everything else in our lives.   It took me some years as  I matured as a believer to realize that and when I did, everywhere I went, whatever I did, He was always on my mind. I was conscious of His presence.  I shared how if I happen to misplace my car keys and blurt out "Lord help me find my keys."  Without really going on my knees to ask Him,  I would hear that small soft voice leading to where it was or a just a thought will drop in my spirit.   I will find myself heading in the direction where I last saw the keys.  That is God for you.

Beloved, God is very concerned and interested in the things that concern us. He is interested in waking us up in the morning so that we are not late for school, work or that appointment. He is interested in driving with us to work, running errands, to a sporting event, etc..  He is concerned about us when we are tired, sad or troubled and is there to give us comfort and encouragement.  He enjoys watching us do chores around the home, e.g., laundry, cooking, cleaning and also when we sit down at the table as a family or couple eating and talking about how our day went.  God enjoys every detail of our lives and is not happy when we do not involve Him in it.  After all, He is our Father, a loving one for that matter.

Scripture tells us in our main text today that He orders the steps of the godly, that is you and me, and he delights or takes pleasure in every human activity we perform on a daily basis, except for sin of course.   Like any parent, who enjoys watching their children grow into matured and responsible young men and women, so does our heavenly Father, who also delights in seeing us progress, seeing us succeeding in life as a result of the  diverse talents, abilities and spiritual gifts He has given us to be used here on earth for His glory.   What displeases Him is when we do not appreciate all that He has given us and enjoy the life He has given unto us for a season.  Psalms 33:15 states. "
He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works "  According to John Gills exposition of the Bible, it means He forms or molds the hearts of his people anew for himself.   He forms Christ in them, and every grace of his Spirit; he builds them into one, and knits and unites them together in love, and makes them like to one another; for as face answers to face in the water, so do the hearts and experiences of the saints one to another.  He also understands all they do and carefully observes their activities.   Beloved, it brings joy to the Father's heart when we value and appreciate all that He has given us, and He also wants us to be conscious of His interest in our everyday lives.
Do you know the Lord also takes pleasure in you when you enjoy His creation, the entire universe?  He loves watching you and me admiring nature, the stars, and space in general, the flowers, the trees, the animals, the mountains and valleys, the oceans and seas, the grasslands, etc.  He has given us all the five senses to enjoy these things.  And guess what, every time we enjoy the rest of His creation, it is an act of true worship when we show our gratitude for it.

Sisters, our God created us in His image and likeness for His enjoyment and His good pleasure. He has also given us the rest of creation for our enjoyment as well.   As you enjoy all that the Lord has provided for you, allow Him to also enjoy every part of you by intentionally including Him in every activity of your life.  As you do so, He will continue to bless and keep you secured under the shadow of His wings.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.  Phil 2:13 KJV

A Church that Cares

Luke 10: 29- 37
- By Chiamaka O.

Beloved, we all know the story of the good Samaritan, and if you do not, I encourage you to read the above-listed scripture text. Today, I want us to understand that portion of scripture or story is the state of the church today. Are we a church that cares? When I say "Church" of course I mean the Body of Christ (believers). How many of us can say we are truly our "Brother's keeper"? How many of us show compassion and empathy for our fellow brother or sister passing through tough times or even genuinely rejoice with them when they are going through a time of rejoicing for what God has done in their lives.

Let us ponder on this for just a moment!

In the story of the good Samaritan, we see three individuals traveled down a road in which they all encountered a seriously injured lying almost dead on the side of the road and all reacted in different ways. Brethren, the first 2 individuals who came upon this injured man were supposedly men of the cloth ( godly men) and the last individual was a man whose people were treated as outcasts in the society. The first 2 men saw this injured individual and kept going without looking back, you would have expected any one of them to show compassion and pity to this person as it has been taught in God's Word right!

The first man, a priest was someone who probably stood at the altar and read God's laws and commands to the people of God day in day out preaching and teaching on loving thy neighbor. "Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself " etc. When it came to putting it into practice, what did he now do? It was amazing that the one who did not profess to be a child of God, a man of God, or a follower of Christ was the one who now helped this wounded man, not only did he stop and clean up his wounds, vs 34 but he went a step further to find a place where he could stay until he was strong enough to continue his journey and even paid for the injured man's stay and assured the innkeeper that he will return and pay any additional expenses. What a remarkable man he was!  What a wonderful example of being your brother's keeper!

This is genuine Christianity and God's love in action.  Brethren, in the church today, we see all kinds of evil being done under the sun. believers waging war against each other, seeds of discord being sown, fellow believers taking each other to court, falsely accusing one another, selfishness, unforgiveness, and the list goes on.

It is time for us to repent and put on the fruit of the spirit Galatians 5:22-23. Without the fruit of the spirit operating in our lives, we cannot be the loving and caring church that our Lord and Savior designed for us to be. We must show the world that we are a Church that has its foundation built on the love of Christ and wherever we are or go, God's love must be paramount. Matthew 5:16 reminds us that we should let our light shine before others, so that they may see our good works and give glory to our Father who is in heaven.

Let us be a Church that cares, showing compassion and kindness to our fellow brothers and sisters and also to the world.

I pray you are blessed by this message!

Responding to God's Love

John 3:16

by Dr Charles Stanley

God has to be true to Himself.  People are foolish to entertain the hope that He will ignore justice and sacrifice holiness in order to allow unbelievers into heaven.  Living a mostly moral life will not satisfy a righteous Judge.

As much as the Lord loves us and desires to save us from our sins, He can not deny His holiness by accepting sin in His presence.  The Father is pristine perfection - a holy Being who, by His very nature, must condemn all sin.  Therefore, it is the height of egotism to think that God will bend both His law and His nature to welcome one whom still bears the stain of wrongdoing.

There is not one person who's good enough to enter heaven on his or her own merit.  Everyone of us needs Jesus.  The stain of sin is washed clean only by the sacrifice of God's holy and blameless Son.  Those who believe in Christ are forgiven their wrongs and cloaked in His righteousness ( 2 Cor:5:21).

Let me make it very clear that trusting Jesus is far more than giving  intellectual assent to His existence- that's something even the Devil acknowledges.  A true believer enters into a relationship with the One who loves his soul enough to save him from eternal punishment.

Those who remain tightly wrapped in their mantle of sin cannot hope to sneak into heaven.  God's holy nature demands perfection, and since we can't provide this for ourselves, the Lord has given it to all who believe in Him.  He has exchanged our filty rags for a cloak of righteousness (Zech. 3:4).

Loving One Another.

By Kemi O.
Beloved,  A very Happy Valentines Day to you and your loved ones.  As we celebrate this day, Let's  remember the greatest lover of all, Our Father and God who first loved us that He sent His only begotten Son to die for us in other to live eternally with Him and to live a glorious life here on earth while awaiting His return.

Spread His love unto others around you today. Pray for someone, hug someone, show kindness to someone, bless someone, help someone and the good Lord, the God of LOVE will reward you greatly.

I leave you with this today

7 Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. 8 But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
9 God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. 10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.  1 John 4:7-12 New Living Translation.

May the warmth of God's love surround you now and always.

Shalom!
