What Traffic Signals Teach Us About Divine Guidance

 

Earlier this week, as I sat at a traffic light watching the red, yellow, and green signals ahead along with a railway crossing light flashing to warn of an approaching train; the Holy Spirit began to speak to my heart. I realized that these everyday signals exist for one purpose: to protect life. They regulate movement, prevent collisions, and keep chaos from overtaking the roads. In the same way, God uses His Word and His voice to guide His children, offering divine signals that help us navigate life safely and wisely. A red light is God’s loving “stop,” His way of protecting us from unseen danger, reminding us that “there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Proverbs 14:12).

The Power of the Tongue: Speaking Life in a Culture of Careless Words

 

In a society where sarcasm, impulsive reactions, and harsh judgment have become common both online and in person; our words often spill out without regard for their impact. The Power of the Tongue refers to the biblical truth that what we speak can either give life or cause destruction (Proverbs 18:21). Speaking Life is the intentional choice to encourage, uplift, and declare truth, while a culture of careless words points to the environment we live in, one that easily dismisses the power of speech. This post calls believers to rise above that norm and embrace a sacred responsibility: to steward our words in a way that honors God, heals others, and reflects Christ’s character — both in public worship and in private moments.

Stillborn, Never Forgotten: Navigating Grief 18 Years Later

 

The year 2007 was filled with both joy and sadness in my life.... It was a joyous time, as it was the year my husband and I reunited after being apart for seven months due to his job. Additionally, it was the year my younger brother moved to the United States.  I was delighted to have more family around me and my 2-year-old. 

However, amidst all that excitement, I encountered one of the most challenging and darkest times of my life, perhaps the darkest. It was the day I lost my beloved Eliana. February 21, 2007, will be a day I will never forget....

What About Divorce and Remarriage?

 

To understand the biblical teaching on divorce and remarriage, we should begin with an overview of marriage. God instituted marriage, we are told in Genesis 2:18, when he made a wife for Adam. He instructed that a man ought to leave the guardianship of his parents and cleave to his wife and become one flesh with her (Genesis 2:24). Of course, the wife should do the same. The married man and woman were then to start a new family.

Courageous Sacrifice: Mary, the Mother of Jesus

 

"Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. " Luke 1:38

Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a key figure in his life and ministry. She was there at his birth, baptism, and crucifixion. While on the cross, Jesus entrusted her care to John, one of his disciples. The devotional I read today during my quiet time reminded me of the courage and sacrifice this young woman demonstrated.

Consider what Mary must have felt when an angel appeared to her, revealing that she would give birth to Jesus. Young and planning to marry a man named Joseph, she had her whole life ahead of her. While the Bible does not specify Mary's exact age when she became pregnant with Jesus, scholars, considering historical and cultural context, generally believe she was likely between 13 and 16 years old. In ancient Jewish society, it was typical for young women to be betrothed and married in their early teens.

US Independence Day Greetings

 

In a couple of days, we shall be celebrating our Independence Day in the United States.  On behalf of DOZme family, we would like to say thank you for your dedication and service to our military personnel, active duty, retired and veterans and all their families.  Thank you to the families of our fallen heroes who had sacrificed their lives for us to enjoy freedom today.

As believers, we are reminded this season of the Father's love for us.  The ultimate sacrifice that He made for all humankind, by the giving of His only begotten son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as a sacrifice in order for us to be saved from eternal damnation.   John 3:16

Thank you, Father!  Thank you, Lord Jesus for freeing us from sin through your atoning sacrifice.

Christmas Outreach - 2022 -

We bless God for a successful community outreach coordinated through the Sword of The Spirit Bible Institute. We served individuals and families in local communities within the following regions; Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, and Zambia, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ,  informing them about our free ministry training program, and distributing food items and monetary gifts to several individuals and their families. It was a great success, and kudos to all our dedicated affiliate members who participated in the event.
